OUR HISTORY

Uganda faces a significant disease burden, disproportionately affecting the poor and marginalized, including people living with HIV, women, youth, and children. Limited access to quality healthcare, coupled with inadequate infrastructure and resources, perpetuates a cycle of poverty and ill health. Recognizing that healthcare is a fundamental right, our organization, formerly NYIMBWA MULTI-PURPOSE ORGANISATION OF PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV/AIDS (NYIMUPHAS), transitioned to Health Response for Community Development and Sustainability (HE-RECODS) to broaden our impact. We are committed to strengthening primary healthcare, advocating for the rights of vulnerable groups, and empowering communities to take control of their health and well-being. We work to bridge the gap between government responsibility and individual action, fostering a healthier, more equitable Uganda."
